Arctic durability test - 16 years at the Hornsund Polar Station

At the edge of the world, where nature knows no compromise, every element of infrastructure undergoes a true durability test.

Hornsund Polish Polar Station, located on the White Bear Bay in the Arctic, is a place where equipment is exposed to extreme frost, strong winds, high humidity and salinity.

It was there that our aluminium flag poles were installed in 2009. Recently, thanks to a researcher on an expedition there, we obtained current photos, and... the effect speaks fot itself.

After 16 years of continuous exposure to such extreme conditions, the poles have retained their structural integrity, and their anodised surface remains uniform, free from corrosion or damage. They look almost identical to how they did on the day they were installed.

This is a source of great satisfaction for us and clear confirmation that our products perform well not only in everyday use, but also where extreme environmental conditions that mercilessly test every element of the structure.

You can see more photos in the "Projects" tab.

The current condition of the poles can be observed thanks to the preview provided by Hornsund Polish Polar Station.
