We are illuminating the Central Square in Warsaw!

We are honoured to participate in the revitalisation project of Central Square in Warsaw. Custom-designed lighting sets based on MAL 11,5 masts were installed in a prestigious location Plac Defilad (The Parade Square).

The illumination of the Central Square is closely linked to the architectural design, which is based on references to the historical urban compositions of this area. The design of the set is inspired by the chandeliers designed around 1955 for the Parade Square. These chandeliers had several-metre-long tubular steel masts with high, round, tapering plinths and significantly widened, cylindrical bases. The masts ended with a bud-shaped pinnacle, repeated at the ends of four S- shaped arms with suspended luminaires.

The designer of the square is A-A Collective, and the lighting designer is Kama Wybieralska. The concept of the project involves lighting selected elements of architecture and landscape.

The set is made of an aluminium alloy, has five arms, each of which is equipped with three light sources - both decorative and functional. The luminaire has cylindrical illuminated diffusers made of frosted PMMA and two light sources illuminating the diffuser in two directions, up and down. The sets have been additionally equipped with hoops for installing additional lighting/cameras. The LED lighting set can be connected to an external control system via the DALI interface
