Carbon footprint calculation for 2022

We have recalculated the carbon footprint for our anodised aluminium columns. This is an element of ROSA's strategy - our goal is to develop pro-ecological actions and, ultimately, closed-circuit production.

We compared obtained data with carbon footprint of steel columns in corresponding lengths. To determine the emissions generated during the production of steel columns, we used emission factors from the Ecoinvent 3.6 database.

The scope of calculations covers the entire lifespan of the column - from its production, through transport, to its disposal. The results show that the production of one anodised aluminium column produces approximately 37.7% less CO2 than the production of one galvanized steel column (the average result for anodised aluminium columns with lengths of 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 m is approximately 130.3 kg eCO2).

We managed to achieve this carbon footprint thanks to the consistent pro-ecological activities we carry out:

1. We select suppliers of aluminium pipes with a reduced carbon footprint

2. We choose European suppliers of sheets for the aluminium columns’ bases, which significantly shortens the supply chain

3. Year by year we increase the production of our own electricity.

ROSA products are environmentally friendly, and efforts to reduce the production’s carbon footprint bring tangible results to our company.

The study was conducted by ROSA employees in accordance with the methodology developed by Bureau Veritas Polska for the previous carbon footprint settlement period - consistent with The GHG Protocol Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard.
