Generally, anodised surfaces are characterised by high resistance to contamination, however, maintaining high decorative values of column surfaces during operation requires periodic cleaning. Why? Some types of impurities, due to their properties, may permanently accumulate on the surface of the column, thus deteriorating the decorative value.
In the case of columns, these are often pollutants characteristic of highly industrialised areas: substances occurring during the operation of roads, industrial plants, etc.
The frequency of cleaning and maintenance depends mainly on the user's decision. The vast majority of external factors are not able to negatively affect the quality and durability of the anodised surface. The exceptions are highly corrosive atmospheres, such as chemical plants or coastal areas, which are characterised by high condensation of moisture and salinity. Such areas have been classified as C5 corrosion zones, in accordance with the PN-EN ISO 12944-2 standard. Subjecting the surface of anodised columns to periodic maintenance guarantees good technical condition of the anodised coating, which fully protects the column, both from the structural side and the structure of the material itself, thus extending the column's service life beyond the warranty period.

Important! For cleaning and maintenance of anodised columns, only agents with a neutral pH (in the range of 5-9) should be used. It is also not allowed to use materials and objects that can scratch deeply and thus damage the anode coating. After removing the impurities, the surface must be rinsed with clean water until the residues of cleaning substances are completely removed.
To remove all kinds of paints, glues, graffiti and other residues of such substances, it is best to use agents intended for removing varnish coatings. A wide range
